In September 2007, the High Court in Kenya ruled that the business hours of casinos can be restricted and regulated to protect members of society who can be exploited or become addicted.
In April 2016, Kenyan Film Classification Board ruled that all ads relating to gambling may not be aired on television between the hours of 5am and 10pm. Government lotteries are exempt from this ruling.
In July 2018, Kenya's government cut taxes on lottery, betting and other gambling activities from 35% to 10% to encourage growth of the gambling sector.
